It states Freeman & Hildyard, Dover Road. I could be wrong on this, but I believe people at that time, c1885 still called Great Dover Street, Dover Road. In fact, the address of the company was 27 Great Dover Street, they also had a place in Globe Street.

Re: Great Dover Street
Haddonhall Street, which is no longer there, ran through to Rephidim Street. Most of this area has all disappeared with the building of the flyover. I would just like to add that on some maps from Tower Bridge Road to Prioress Street this part is shown as the Old Kent Road.
Re: Great Dover Street
Great Dover Street, c1932. Globe Street a little way behind the photographer. The shops and houses on the right would soon be demolished to make way for Abinger House that stands there today. The Dover Castle pub can be seen in the distance (left), towards the Borough.
Re: Great Dover Street
This is the tenant's hall for the Lawson Estate, and many will recall the bingo nights and dances held there. Jonson House are the flats at the back. Cardinal Bourne Street, formally Lower Bland Street.
