The Pitts Head was situated at 14 Grange Road. I think this pub was on the corner of Woods Place which ran through to Webbs Street. Paragon Alley is further down and going pass Webb Street School. I remember when I went to Webb Street School late 40s early 5os, this was a furniture shop and there was a Factory behind the pub/furniture shop that made Ball-bearings.

Re: Grange Road
I was born in Guys hospital in 1942 and lived with my parents Maurice and Emily Page in Longley Street off Southwark Park Road. One end of it was at Southwark Park Road and the other end was Thorburn Square. As a child I remember going to the Solarium. I went to St Josephs RC primary school George Row Dockhead. My dad worked as an architect for B Young the gelatine works. I also remember Dr Mumford was our gp.

C. E. Heinke & Co amalgamated with the India Rubber Manufacturers 'Foster & Williams' (of that address) in 1904. The company remained at this address until they were bought out by Siebe, Gorman & Co. Ltd. (c1961) their factory was in Westminster Bridge Road.

Hi Kiwi
The first photo looks as if it may be just off the junction with The Grange opposite the swimming pool? Would be interesting to see where it is.
But to be honest Kiwi I'm more curious about the "FREE SEX" sign displaying Green Shield Stamps??
Cheers nuttyboy pat

Hi nuttyboy pat
Re-the garage, I’m with you on that, opposite the swimming pool. The free sex is not the problem, but self-service,not much fun on your own and where would you stick the stamps.
Cheers kiwi (Ray)

Re: Grange road
Grange Road slip road 1903, looking towards Tower Bridge Rd, then called Bermondsey New Road. The little slip road comes off Tower Bridge Road and into Grange Road, the toilet railings are on the left.
