The Ship & Whale Pub, The Odessa Wharf building which can just be seen from the garden of he pub on the left and dates back to 1810, also making this one of the oldest surviving buildings in Rotherhithe. Originally it is thought that Odessa Wharf was used as a mould loft (a large broad, roofed area where moulds and patterns are prepared for the construction of a ship), however it is documented that in the 1800s The Odessa Wharf was used by a Mr Landell, as storehouse for grain. Randalls Rents which runs alongside the pub would have been a narrow passage much the same as it is today on the other side to the pub would have been tied housing for key employees of Odessa Wharf and the neighbouring shipyards. Not sure if the alley is still called Randell Rents?

Gulliver Street, The Thames Path at present follows Randall Rents, c2020.
After Greenland Dock, on the Rotherhithe peninsula, the Thames Path at present turns down Randall Rents to the back of The Ship & Whale Pub, before running along Odessa Street. The Thames Path at one time I think was called Dock passage. :?:

Placed this in Gulliver Street as Dock Passage ran from there to Plough Lane. The Dock and Duck Pub was roughly halfway between the two.

Called by the locals Dock Alley, also known as Dog and Duck Alley because the pub was at the Plough Way end. The real name was Dock Passage. Reliably told that this is Francise Minto with the bike.?
