Not half do I remember these punishment tools!! In my school, St Josephs George Row, Bermondsey, the boys were constantly given the ruler on the palms of the hand for any excuse the nun's could think of. I got punished once for not eating my greens at school dinner!
The girls seemed to get away with murder all the time!!!

- Go into any dressing room and it stunk, get it in a cut and it stung like hell, but it seemed to work.

British WWI "Bully Beef" ration. This was a treat for us in the 1940s, when it was donated from the docks.
I still like it today; except we have to pay for it now.
There were two Tanks called Fray Bentos, one in each war.

Do you remember this, we use to call them the School Board man, amongst other things.
This was when we had respect for authority, today they would probably tell him where to go and give him a right hander.
Then the powers to be, would apologise to the aggressor send them a food parcel, sack the School Board man and do him for trespassing.
Sometimes it is good to rave, I feel better already.
- School Visitors were hired to knock on the doors of each truant’s home.
