Half Moon & Bulls Head pub (site) 238 Rotherhithe Street. Was about 500 yards east of the swing bridge near Brunel Road. First recorded in 1805 and closed about 1988. It was also known as 'Half Moon' and 'Bulls Head and Half Moon'. Since closing as a pub it has had three floors added and some changes to the front.

This pub closed in 1942 and has now been demolished. I think the pub was near Canada Wharf. ?
This is the Acorn Pub, with Holy Trinity Church in the background c1860. At this time, the road was called Trinity Street now Rotherhithe Street. The Acorn Pub would have been roughly opposite Trinity Hall and originally called the Acorn Inn. Surrey Docks Farm is now to the rear of were the pub was.

Now know it to be near Acorn Wharf.

From at least 1868 there was a floating fire station off Platform Wharf in Rotherhithe (adjacent to the Angel public house), this part is now Bermondsey Wall East.

The blue door is part of Charles Hay & Co at number 135. Seaford House of the Swan Estate left, in the background, can be seen the spire of St Marys Church.

Purnell Place, Rotherhithe. Rear of a three-storey property. A woman and two children pose outside. A shed and outhouses are attached to the rear of the house. The house and Purnell Place no longer exist; it used to run south-east out of Rotherhithe Street, between Surrey House and the Half Moon & Bull Head Pub, c1911.
