Rotherhithe Street, Mestaers Buildings, where the Amos Estate is now located. The 1928 flood in Rotherhithe.
The child being lowered was Peter Awcock, and the woman lowering him was Peter's mother Ellen.
One of the women looking out of another window was Peter's Aunt Lidya. On the raft were two casual dock workers, Mr Tull and Mr Evans. It is nice to be able to put some names to the faces!

The Half Moon & Bulls Head Pub was where the white building is,
between that and Surrey House was Purnell Place.

The building on the right faced with rusticated stucco and with projecting lamp and sign bracket (but no helpful sign!) is the Duke's Head at 268 Rotherhithe Street. The large house in the distance is № 187. The Amos Estate now stands on the right.

Thanks for that Fogbrain, yes you are right. In this picture you can see Rotherhithe Street on the side of the building, meaning Rotherhithe Street runs from left, down the alley right which then connects both parts of Rotherhithe Street.
Elephant Lane comes from the right opposite Elephant Stairs (to the Thames) down the alley with rubbish, and left of Princess Iron Works. Am I right, that The Torbay pub was on the corner left. :?: More pictures in Elephant Lane Topic.

From the comedy film Mrs. Peabody 1922. which was also called Number 13. It was not completed, for lack of funding.
