Kate & Stanley Oliver c 1950, my Nan & Uncle. Outside the Magnet Pub, corner of Mason Street & Old Kent Road. Globe Pictures in the Background.
Roughly the same location.
The Stall would have been roughly where the tree is on the pavement. The pub would have run back across the car park
Mason Street Old Kent Road corner 2017,old Deaf and Dumb school on left. If only they could see it now??

The Gloucester Arms Pub site was situated at 24 Mason Street. This pub has now been converted into flats. Corner of Gavel Street left, was called Little Mason Street and runs into Darwin Street.

Crosslet Street ,looking towards Mason Street, c1957, on the right are Stubbs House, Spurgeon House, Havelock House, Palmerston House and Wellington House. The buildings no longer exist.
Crosslet Street 2024, looking from Townsend Street, same location with Mason Street far end. The Gloucester Arms Pub was just out of the picture right.
