Re: DUKE STREET/ DUKE STREET HILL.
Mr. Turtle & Mr. Pearce set up shop in 1872 in the London Borough of Southwark and after winning a contract to supply the Royal Navy with signalling flags, and they quietly started to become one of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of flags, banners and pennants. They also had a factory at 31 Tanner Street and they are still making Flags today.

If you look at the picture above, on the right you can see what looks like a clock. This is roughly where The Mooneys Dublin House Pub, formerly The Sussex was, there address being 3-4 Duke Street Hill. It is more than likely that Chapman Shipping Ltd had offices above the pub.

Re: DUKE STREET/ DUKE STREET HILL.
Picture states, Tooley Street: looking east from London Bridge 1920. I am certain this is Duke Street Hill. Tooley Street ran the other side of the buildings on the left.
