The Grange WWII Unexploded Bomb

This may have already been covered as it happened in 2015 when a WWII unexploded bomb was discovered during digging on a building site on The Grange.

Recently dug up!

I have only just come across this article and when I realised exactly where the unexploded bomb was located it sent shivers up and down my backside :o :o :o :o
This is the exact spot we played on when we were nippers on a Sunday afternoons with my mates! I think it was a disused tannery and to us scallywags it was our Disneyland! Even one of our mates lived on the junction of Grange Walk/The Grange right opposite the bomb. Imagine not knowing that we were all jumping up and down on a 1,000lb unexploded Jerry bomb.

Still you gotta have a Bermondsey sense of humour to laugh about it

The Grange, Grange Tannery, it was originally run by Samuel Barrow & Brothers, but later came under the management of Barrow, Hepburn & Gale. The tanneries in the Grange were destroyed during the Blitz, after which they were replaced by residential and office blocks.

Decided to post in The Grange rather than Abbey Street, plus I could be wrong on the location, please let me know if I am and I will correct it.
The Grange right 1946, with a small part of Paulin Street in between the prefabs, Abbey Street runs left to right, where the lorry is. On the left where the three diagonal prefabs are, is Fendall Street, the prefabs lasted until the late 1950s/early 1960s?
