Borough Road
Re: Borough Road
Corner with Milcote Street (formerly Warwick Street). Each tenement had a separate WC and a scullery.
Left is number 20 a three-storey building with a sign above the shop front for R. HOWE. A sign on the first-floor wall advertises Covered Vans for Removals, Carriages let on hire. In 1911 this was occupied by John Hobbs, Barrow Maker, his wife Johanna, his son; a labourer, and daughter; a furrier. Number 19 is a three-storey building with a shop sign for Vincent for Ginger Beer and Mineral Waters. Still there after all those years.
