The school is now in-between Rotherhithe New Road and Hawkstone Road. In the 1950s I think the entrance may have been in Suffolk Grove, which is no longer there.

I don't think I ever knew. The 1941 trade directory lists it as William Harbrow Ltd, builders. Presumably it was the offices with the yard and warehouse behind.

Hi Fogbrain, thanks for that. What a wally I am, this is the firm I worked for when I first left school (1956). I must have been in there several times, plus this also looks like the buildings they use to build. :?

As far as I can work out, this company, coming from St James Road was on the right past Catlin Street, just past where the Empress of India pub was and before you got to Credon Road.

The sale of the fish bar in 2020 spelt an end to 73 years of the Victory serving family meals from Rotherhithe New Road. Milton and Georgina Miltiadous were the third generation behind the Victory Fish Bar on Rotherhithe New Road, which was opened in 1947 by Milton’s grandad, Nick. The pair took over the running of the chippy in 1987 from Milton’s father.
