Gedling Street originally ran from Abbey Street to what was then called Dockhead, now Jamaica Road. Not too sure when it changed, but it then become Gedling Place up to Millstream Road then from Druid Street the other side of the Arches to Jamaica Road, it was called Sweeney Crescent.
