- Brunel Road c1976, Adam & Eve Pub down on the left, prefabricated housing, and newly planted trees in Albion Street right. Original buildings were demolished during the construction of the Rotherhithe Tunnel and Brunel Road after World War II.

Picture states, where is this street photographed in c1935. I think it’s Brunel Road looking down Hatteraick Road with the Bricklayers Arms Pub left.

Love the 1930s picture posted in August showing the Neptune and beyond, which which shows how the alignment of Brunel Road went prior to widening for the roundabout in the 1970s and how much land was “grabbed”. Looking at the older pictures of Jamaica Road and Lower Road, it is sometimes difficult to visualise where everything once was, but the 1930s pic here puts it all into clear perspective.
