DEACON STREET

Postby kiwi » Wed Mar 07, 2018 3:34 am

Deacon Street now Heygate Street.
Deacon Street ran between Walworth Road & Gurney Street, Elephant & Castle.
Deacon St, Ash St & Gurney Street all disappeared when the Heygate Estate was built (1971-1974).

I've had a cuppa in there many moons ago. :)

Deacon Street, 1960, on the corner of Sayer Street. Palumbo General stores, was an Express Dairy shop (Early 50s).

Winch Place, would have been roughly where the first building on the left is sticking out.
