There used to be an old factory on Tower Bridge Road on at the Abbey Street junction . It was near an old newsagents called Grays i think. Does anyone recall the name?

Hi Irishdave59.
Welcome to the site. Not sure if the factory you mean is John Feavers slightly back from the corner of Abbey Street,on the corner of Long Walk. On the corner of Abbey Street at one time was the National Federation of Discharged Sailors & Soldiers, which sounds like an Hostel? and it did have shops below it. If you look at page 6 you will see a picture of a newsagents on the corner of Abbey Street.
The list below is from c1921, so the shops would have changed over the years.

Hi Irish Dave,
The factory was called John Feavers and opposite was a paper shop was called Grays. I use to have a paper round there when I was a nipper. It was run by an elderly couple or brother/sister, both very thin and very tall I seem to recall? They had an assistant who use to walk from Dockhead and was always immaculately dressed like someone from the 40's!
