Re: Tower Bridge Road
Earlier Post, 2018.
Can anyone remember a jeweller’s shop? It was called Stephen Tree’s and located at 94 Tower Bridge Road, opposite side to Manze’s pie and Mash shop, c1965.
Word of thanks to Peter for this information 29/9/2023.
Hi, Kiwi. I stumbled across your question about Tree's. I started working there Saturdays and holidays in 1965, when I was 15. Not sure when I stopped, 67 or 68 maybe. I was born in Long Lane, and we lived there till I was 16 or 17, when we moved to a new estate in the Old Kent Road.
All the best, Peter Leaver. (Peter1950).
Cheers Peter, Ray (Kiwi).

Ran from, then, Bermondsey New Road to Paragon Alley, the back of Webb Street School.
Re: Tower Bridge Road
Tower Bridge Road, Tanner Street left, Bermondsey. The Raven & Sun Pub, c1960. The Landlord is on the far right and was the licensee for over 40 years.
The Raven was situated at 52 Tanner Street. Previously known as The Raven at The Tower, and originally The Raven & Sun.

Re: Tower Bridge Road
My Nans stall was to the left, to think she was probably sitting there.
Re: Tower Bridge Road
Tommy preferred Manze’s, his dad (Darbo) liked Joyce’s.
Re: Tower Bridge Road
This is on the Island opposite where the Horseshoe Pub was. More information about Albert McKenzie can be found in the History & War Years Topic.
