The area in which the Surrey Tavern formerly stood now forms part of Burgess Park. At the time of the photograph the landlord was Allen Cooper Payne who is listed in the 1899 Post Office Directory. The 1895 and 1910 directories list the Surrey Canal Tavern's publicans as Charles Susman and Mrs Elizabeth Ann Payne respectively, allowing for a relatively precise date for this photograph. C1895-1910.

Been told by someone who lived in that area that this is The Victory Pub, Trafalgar Avenue formerly Trafalgar Road. I cannot find any information that The Victory was part of Barclay & Perkins, so it may be wrong.
