Tucked away deep inside Surrey Quays’ Greenland Dock was one of the most charming little boat pubs in London. Mainly known by the locals, this little delight has been moored up for more than 20 years.
Built in 1929, the two-deck Duberg was a famous Rhine ferry. Brought to London and re-named the Wibbley Wobbley, it became a floating pub in Rotherhithe's dockland, Initially a 'boxing' pub and drinking spot for South London 'villains, it was taken over, re-designed and revived in 2001 by Andree Jenni and legendary 'father of alternative comedy' Malcolm Hardee. Malcolm tragically drowned in January 2005.
The Wibbley Wobbley floating pub closed in 2014 and has been towed away from the Greenland Dock in Rotherhithe to be scrapped 2016.
