It's actually Casby House, which looks identical to Lupin Point.

Re: TANNER STREET.

I Have not been able to locate this, though I have read that it was off Tanner Street, Bermondsey Street end, hence posting here. My best guess is that in the background is Tanner House, making Musk Court where Swan House is today with Tanner Street to the right.? If that is wrong, please let me kn...

Re: DRUID STREET.

The Variety Club playground is the big one on the Arnold Estate opposite Neckinger Mills, but it isn't associated with Alfred Salter.

Re: Lower Road Rotherhithe

Lower Road, Rotherhithe Free Church, c1905 The houses in the top picture are №s 12-16 (right to left), the Free Church itself is the building out of frame to the left but clearly the houses - or at least № 12 - were associated with the church. The church became the library after WWII. The houses fa...

Re: MYSTERY-DO YOU RECOGNISE THESE PLACES?

Rydal Boys club, Bermondsey. Can anyone place where this was. The photo appears to have been taken at the Bovington tank museum, presumably on a daytrip or holiday. All I can find is that Rydal Penrhos School in Colwyn Bay had ‘strong links’ with the Bermondsey Settlement in Farncombe Street. Both ...

Re: MYSTERY-DO YOU RECOGNISE THESE PLACES?

Bryant's Alley, Rotherhithe, c.1930. This one’s really confusing, and apparently it always has been. There is an alley marked on old OS maps as Bryan Court in Rotherhithe that ran between Bryan Road (formerly Trinity Road) and Rotherhithe Street (formerly Trinity Street), where Bryan House now stan...

The building on the right faced with rusticated stucco and with projecting lamp and sign bracket (but no helpful sign!) is the Duke's Head at 268 Rotherhithe Street. The large house in the distance is № 187. The Amos Estate now stands on the right.

Re: Landrail Place

We didn't have access to such good maps all those years ago when fosney posted the photo. The c1900 map shows the three cottages in Landrail Place after the other thirteen had been demolished for the widening of the viaduct and before the three new tracks have been laid thereupon. map; Landrail Plac...
