Elephant Lane comes from the right opposite Elephant Stairs (to the Thames) down the alley with rubbish, and left of Princess Iron Works. Am I right, that The Torbay pub was on the corner left? Yes, the Torbay was on that corner. Elephnat Lane comes up from St Marychurch Lane where the Ship pub is....

Princes Iron Works was at the end of Elephant Lane, where Prince's Tower now stands.kiwi wrote:This had the address of 31-33 Rotherhithe Street possibly between the Angel Pub and the King’s Stairs.

Curious fact: both Casby House and Lupin Point are no longer officially part of the Dickens Estate; also Bowley House.

I Have not been able to locate this, though I have read that it was off Tanner Street, Bermondsey Street end, hence posting here. My best guess is that in the background is Tanner House, making Musk Court where Swan House is today with Tanner Street to the right.? If that is wrong, please let me kn...

The Variety Club playground is the big one on the Arnold Estate opposite Neckinger Mills, but it isn't associated with Alfred Salter.

Rydal Boys club, Bermondsey. Can anyone place where this was. The photo appears to have been taken at the Bovington tank museum, presumably on a daytrip or holiday.
