Found this old photo of Abbey Buildings taken during or after the war. Apparently there was some bomb damage to the roof of the flats in this picture taken during WW2 but I cant really see in this except for some damage in the foreground. When we lived in Bermondsey in the 60's my mum got a job in Peak Freans and every Friday night she would come home from work with a huge plastic bag full of broken biscuits that were not for the general public, but was ok for us! Me and my brother really looked forward to Friday evenings :D :D :D :D
