Many years ago we had a horse called Southern who came from The Southern Railway yard stables shown on the left. He was a very laid back horse and apparently because he regularly rode down the Old Kent Road spooked at nothing.

Anybody else remember The Cage. Spent a lot of my childhood playing football up there. Actually remember hearing about Kennedy being shot whilst up there in 63 when this picture was taken. I think we stopped playing for all of 30 seconds

Barnetts Fish & Chip Shop

In Snowsfields, we used to sing through the Air Vent:

Barnetts sell fish
Three'hapence a dish
Dont Buy Dont Buy it
It stinks when you fry it

Never forgotten even taught my grandchildren that one!

Guy Street

Lived in the flats in Guy Street. Does anybody remember Hamilton Square where we used to play football in the square even though there was a big old tree in the middle!

Re: TABARD STREET.

I remember playing football in Tabard Street. Also the church in the park was where The Dave Clark 5 made a film and all their gear got nicked!
