Does anyone recognize this photo taken around 1947/48 of No. 53 Vauban Estate? I lived here for about 15 years with my parents, sisters, and brothers, known as the Lloyd family. My sister and I attended Boutcher School until the age of 15. I started work as a sewing machinist. One of the places I worked at was in Tower Bridge Road. I would be interested to know if anyone one remembers us? I am third in from the right on the balcony with my arm on the rail.

I rmember Vauban Estate when I was about six in 1948, my old aunt used tolive on the
ground floor, in the street withthe pub on one corner, and the pawbrokers on the the
other corner I can remember being sent to the pub witha big jug' to get it filled up
with beer'then taking it back to myold aunt, I think it only cost 1d!
Those were the days'

my aunt lil used to live on the ground floor -Mrs Tamplin - she had 6 children, I remember the mangle she used to use to do the laundry - she 83 now, when I figure out how to scan photos I will post some. I'll mention your family to her when I see her next.
