old school building

Hi
does anyone remember the old school near Pardoner street and weston street. it was opposite the block of flats near Tabard Park,you used to pass by the wall on the way to and from Barnets the fish shop in long lane.
The school wasnt in use and people used to say it was bombed during the second world war, i lived in Gt Dover St from 1956-1970, anyone with any info please contact me, i would be very grateful.

That would seem to have been the Chaucer School - originally Westcott Street School. The 1949-54 survey on Southwark Council's web site indeed shows it as damaged and not in use.
It looks like it was replaced with the Geoffrey Chaucer School in County Street.
