Although I 've always liked Pie and Mash I "ve also always liked Jellied eels.  I wonder if anybody else  shares my taste for Jellied eels ? Did they sell them at Manze's ?

Hi Westonstreet and Phil

Manze's sells both stewed and jellied eels!

"The Home of Pie 'n' Mash"

M.Manze was established in 1902 by Michele Manze - the present owners' Grandfather.

We serve traditional Pie & Mash and Eels (jellied or stewed), in authentic surroundings. At Manzes, we still use the same recipes today for the pies and liquor as were used in 1902, the only changes made have been to improve quality and to meet the higher food standards of today.
We offer eat in or take-away at any of the three Manzes shops, (there are other Manze shops outside of this family) and can supply small or large quantities of Pies, Eels, Liquor etc. for a 'Cockney' themed evening, party or any occassion you choose. We now offer Online ordering with courier delivery.
Manzes also have the capability to supply Pies, Liquor etc to other Pie & Mash shops, or outlets wishing to sell authentic Manzes Pies and Liquor.

Situated at:

87 Tower Bridge Road SE1 4TW

105 High Street, Peckham SE15 5RS

226 High Street, Sutton SM1 1NT

On the subject of jellied eels,in the 70s,I remember fishing the Thames off the stairs near Butlers wharf for eels and then taking them back to a fish stall outside the Fleece, they would buy them off me aslong as they were alive and wriggling!
