There can't be many places where you can see the old Bermondsey coat of arms, or can there. If you know or see it somewhere, please take a photo and share it here telling us where it is.

This is a shot of the large prominent coat of arms on Cathay House, Cathay Street (by the Angel PH):

This is a photo of the bust of Ernest Bevin in Tooley Street. You can see a small coat of arms near to the base of the plinth:

This one is in need of a little TLC, it is on the fence surrounding the statue of Samuel Bevington. This one is also in Tooley Street and is next to the bust of Bevin:

See what you mean, both google map view and the photo's aren't clear but it def seems to be. It is the obvious place for the CoA when you think of it! (ditto the old library building)

If someone doesn't beat me to it, I'll take photo's of both next time I'm down there.

Cheers

There is an excellent Bermondsey cost of arms on the wall to the right of the entrance of the Rotherhithe Swimming Baths or 'Seven Islands Leisure Centre' as it is now called.

Bermondsey Coat of Arms

The arms were granted on March 25 1901.
Bermondsey was formed in 1900 from the parishes of Bermondsey, Rotherhirhe,St Olave,St John, Horslydown and St Thomas, Southwark.

The crown and battle-axe are emblems of the Saint-King of Norway who was summoned by Etheired to help him resist the Danes, and destroyed the old fortified bridge over the Thames to attack the Danes at Southwark. He was patron saint of the parish of St Olave.

The Lion and Croiser refer to the ancient Abbey of Bermondsey, which enjoyed Royal favour.  The ship represents the old shipping industry in Rotherhithe

The same ship appears in Fisher F.C.'s old crest, a spurious link that just gives me the excuse to post a photo of the plaque for the Old Den (even if it is in the Borough of Lewisham!).

Quite strange that the Fisher CoA's has a well in it's centre, this usually associates to Camberwell. I understand the ship (probably for Rotherhithe) and the Rose (for England) otherwise seems very confusing.

It is the shield of the London Borough of Southwark.
The club is currently consulting on changing the 'crest' as they erroneously refer to it; the reasons cited including the shield being a registered trade mark of Southwark borough council (and therefore cannot be 'owned' by the club), few people being aware of what the shield represents (I guess we've proved that!), and the main part of the shield consisting of heraldic elements relating to Camberwell (the other part represents Surrey, Bermondsey, and Southwark). The proposal is to adopt a round badge with the 'angry fish' symbol used by the club in the distant and the recent past. Seems to me like a prudent change: vote for 'angry fish'!

I saw that the Bob Mellish stadium was derelict but I didn't realise that Fisher FC were now playing at Champions Hill. Maybe that would have come under the old Camberwell BC. Anyway the "Angry Fish" it gotta be!

Number 4:
It is indeed the combined Bermondsey & Rotherhithe CoA:

Number 5.
Cheers Phil, it is indeed an excellent copy. I've obviously always had my eyes firmly on the road as I've passed!

Prior to the combination of Bermondsey & Rotherhithe, this was the Bermondsey crest. Displayed on the old public library in Spa Road:

It's so easy to miss the obvious or familiar. Here is a fine example of the CoA on the south side of the War Memorial in West Lane:
