Does anyone have any memories of the "Seaside" buildings in webb St around the 1950's.
I Lived at 5 Portsmouth Buildings From 1946 - 1966 & went to Webb St school & then Bermondsey Central. Remember making camps in the bombed out Wothing buildings.
Any Memories appreciated, especially pictures & when estate built.
Thank's Eddie Jennings

Hi Eddie
I used to make camps in Worthing Buildings to, With some of my mates among them Perter Feddon, Jimmy Rolfe, David Horton, perhaps you were there to. I remember we used to make a baricade against the opposite wall, we used bits of old corrugated iron metal polls and any old bits and bobs we could find.
Here comes the fun bit, we would then take it turns to either shelter in the barricade or go up on the roof and hearl down bricks, stones any misile we could lay our hands on, and most lethal of all the pointed cast iron railings, which at one time been around the edge of the building, It's amasing we survived but we all did.

Hi Rod, Thank's for the reply, I don't recall  any of the names, We thought that we were the only ones who knew about the place !. One name that I do recall from our block was Peter Early, The others were my cousins, Pat & Peter White & Kenny Sandford. I do remember hanging on the back of a delvery cart, when something hit me & knocked me sprawling, It was the local copper with his cape, who said "Go & tell the old man & you'l get another one" Anyone remember his name?. I also remember a short bloke who always dressed as a teddy boy & had a big american car, We always let his tyres down, I still feel sorry.
