Hi Kathleen,I remember Time and Talents well. Me and my mates all used to go to the club and also the Brownies there. We loved it there and we all used to queue up to get in and after the club was finished we had to go into the chapel for prayer time. By the way, your name rings a bell did you have relations that lived in Tyers Estate in Bermondsey Street.
Hi Kathleen
my mum used to go to Time and Talents but she was a good 20 years older than your sister and her friends and would've gone there years before.
BTW Kathleen...did you know that THE Bob Monkhouse's grandfather had part ownership of a custard powder factory called Monk and Glass in Snowsfields years ago?!
Are they your relations?
Kind regards
HI thanks for replying . Regarding Bob Monkhouse's grandad and the custard factory I used to walk past it every day to go to my nans she lived in tyers estate on the edge of the factory.little did I now i would marry into the family although distant. Bob was a distant cousin of my husband I believe that their grandfathers were related up in cumbria or some sort of family connection. Bob had a big family reunion in the late 50s It was called a house full of Monkhouses. my sister inlaw attended.

Hi Claire
I've spoken to Fred and Terry on here before as Fred knew my uncle, Jimmy Longworth.
My nan lived in Abbey Street, her name was Mabel Longworth but everyone knew her as Midge.
My great grand mother (Midge's mum) Alice Cox owned a coal shop in Abbey Street years ago.
I remember Joe Cappuccio's fruit shop in Abbey Street and next door was Fucillo's grocers.
Do you remember Wards Electrics on the same parade of shops?
It was run by my dad's cousins Sam and George Ward.
Kind regards
HI JUST TO SAY YES MY NAN LIVED IN TYERS ESTATE I WAS ALWAYS THERE HER NAME WAS SARHANN KEATING. SHE LIVED WITH HER DAUGHTER KITTY.
