Hello all,
My name is Fred Conroy and I was a member of the Oxford & Bermondsey Canterbury Club between 1941 and 1945.
I am hoping to get in touch with any old club members or indeed anyone who knew me from Bermondsey. I lived in Abbey Buildings, Abbey Street, Bermondsey and I married Claire Hook who also lived in Abbey Street.
Some of my old mates from the club were Nobby Russel, Harry Mitchel, Jackie Attree, Harry Clements, Nig Wybrow,
Dennis Barnet, George Mitchel and Jimmy Longworth to name just a few.
I will see if I have any old pictures of the club that I can load on here.
I would love to hear from anyone who knew me or any of these names above.
Here is a picture taken round my sisters flat in Devon Mansions Tooley Street. My sister was Rose Lynes and she was married to George Lynes.

I do hope to hear from anyone who knew me or my wife Claire in those days.
Thanks. Fred.

Hi Fred

great pic of you all!

My dad, Harry Longworth, and his brother Jimmy (who we've discussed in another thread!) knew Nig Whybrow.
It's a shame no one on my dad's side of the family are here to see your photo and post as I bet they would recognise names and faces.

Kind regards
