Rossi's ice cream was the best. We used to play football or cricket during the holidays in the Webb St school playground. We'd head over to Rossis afterwards for a coke and ice cream or a "99".

The best thing about Rossis were the '99s". A milk flake stuck in the middle of a cornet. I think there were two sizes.
I used to love Friday mornings on Tower Bridge Road. All the stalls were out, The Caledonian market was open. Always spotted a few big American cars at the Cali. Waggy Whitnall was selling fresh fish including conger eel. He cut the heads and tails off while you watched. The place was humming.
